Feeling Lost/Stuck After Glimpse - Awakening - Limbo

January 7, 2018

After the initial glimpse where you realise your true nature at a deeper level things seem to go back to how they were before. This can be very disappointing for someone who has been seeking for so long, and when one finally feels they have found what they have been looking for. For a brief period of time there was a feeling of bliss, oneness, a connection with the world like never before. We seem to want this permanently and many fall into this idea of trying to get back to this moment that has passed. What happens if this experience never happens again? Do we wait around for it to come back?

We may believe that what we were searching for was that experience but on a permanent and continual basis. Somehow it is now lost and we are stuck as we no longer have it and are back to feeling the old stuff again. This is a false assumption and can leave the person feeling like they are kind of in limbo. Trying to get back to something in the past without realising states and experiences come and go, no matter how profound or meaningful. Rather than trying to obtain a permanent state we must learn to trust going with the flow and give awareness to what arises in this current moment. There is no point in trying to obtain a state when life is always continually changing.

Once the glimpse has vanished time is often needed for settling and processing. This may mean seeking support from others to address old wounds and traumas. If you feel stuck then it's best to sit with that feeling, allowing yourself to feel what you are feeling right now! There is no right or wrong and maybe this is exactly where you need to be right now. There is much fluctuation in terms of our emotions, thoughts and feelings after this kind of glimpse. Give yourself the time to adjust and things will start to change/happen in due time.
